Azwan Update v114

AZWAN~ INTRO & INFO: [az1]

Well the event page has been live for ages, it looks saucy of course~
Azwan Event Page

Chronicles of Azwan
Long ago, a city hidden deep underground prospered in a far-off corner of Maple World. That city was Azwan–a society where craftsmen and scholars worked side by side under the guidance of wise shamanesses, a land full of tunnels and caverns that were stuffed with gems and metals. And that wealth was the reason the Black Mage decided to claim Azwan as his own.

The city fell easily enough. Hilla, the grand shamaness and right hand to the king, sold her people to the Black Mage in exchange for immortality, everlasting beauty, and the ability to control the undead. She captured the city under her spell, tearing it to ruins. Azwan’s citizens were bewitched by her evil before they could lift blade to fight her. Their trapped spirits became the army that she commands to this very day.

Now, it is up to you to join the Fight for Azwan and free its people from the clutches of the Black Mage!

So I always thought Hilla looked a little like Jasmine or like a Gypsy… LOL! Coming from a desert Atlantis of sorts, somewhere deep and below in the Nihal Desert. Azwan was once beautiful but thanks to the Black Mage and Hilla’s hunger for greatness, it is now a betrayed gloomy undead wasteland. Her people forever looping between death and un-death for us to PQ solo or with a party in Azwan. (Lmao<3)

  • Must be Level 40 or above to be eligible for the Fight for Azwan PQ.
  • Use the Dimensional Mirror, located in most towns to get there.
  • There are four level tiers for this PQ;
    • Level 40-79
    • Level 80-119
    • Level 120-159
    • Level 160-200
  • There are four modes for this PQ;
    • Occupy
    • Attack
    • Defend
    • Supply
  • For the first three modes, Cygnus monster minions will spawn in your favor.
  • Higher difficulty level tiers have more powerful monsters and in greater spawn quantity.
  • Earning you more Honor EXP and Azwan Coins when you complete the PQ!
  • The Solo mode of this PQ is easier than Party mode.
    • You don’t have a team helping you out so the monsters are lesser in quantity and weaker to boot.
  • AZWAN~ MODES: [az2]
    Fight for Azwan Modes
Gonna give a rough idea for what each mode has going on for it. We have Occupy, Attack, Defense, and Supply.

    Occupy & Attack Mode:

  • These modes focus on a tower assault strategy.
  • Stop enemies from going all the way to the left.
  • Destroy the Guardian Tower on the right to win.
  • If enemies reach the left side, the Guardian Tower will recover HP.
  • The Owl Tower drops rocks on you, and you take a huge damage hit for it.
    • These rocks will deal damage no matter what. It doesn’t care about any avoid you have, so hide as best you can when it’s hovering.
  • The Guardian Tower uses two powerful beam attacks.
    • These beams will deal damage no matter what. They don’t care about any avoid you have.
    • Use your Cygnus minions as meat shields to avoid the beam damage.
  • Stone statues will drop onto the floor when the Guardian Tower is about to use it super attack.
  • Hilla’s Monster Guardian will appear at an altar in Hard and Hell modes to make things in this PQ more of a pain than previously thought.
    • Avoid pentacles on the ground when it uses its storm cloud attack.
  • There are some differences between the Occupy mode altars and the Attack mode altars:
    • Altars in Occupy mode have a wider attack range than the ones in Attack mode.
    • Altars in Attack mode have an additional skill that recovers the Guardian Tower’s HP.
  • Defense Mode:

  • The Defense mode focuses on a tower defense strategy.
  • Keep the Cygnus Faith Stone from being destroyed.
    • Failing to do so, will ensure loss of the round.
  • There are two ways to win in this mode:
    • Smash all of the ballistae
    • Protect the Cygnus Faith Stone until time runs out.
  • When you see a message saying that a ballista has appeared, keep a look out for a red dot on the platforms. This is where the ballista will appear.
  • You have a small window of time to react before a ballista fires a volley.
    • This is shown in a bar that fills up in the HUD that displays how many ballistae are left.
  • The ballistae launch faster and do more damage to the Cygnus Faith Stone in higher difficulty levels.
  • Supply Mode:

  • This mode functions much like a normal hunting mini dungeon.
  • There is no difficulty option for this mode, it’s just a hunt mission really.
  • If you accept the quest for Supply Mode from Longorias, you will see the monsters drop Azwan Supply Boxes if you are in this mode between 2 PM and 8 PM Pacific time.
  • Once you collect 100 of the boxes, use the portal within the map to visit Longorias and complete the quest, which is repeatable daily.
  • AZWAN~ REWARDS: [az3]

  • You have a Azwan Coin collection cap of 150 per day.
  • You can retrieve your Azwan Coins from NPC Woodwan in the Azwan Refuge Zone.
  • There are two types of coins:
Conqueror’s Coins, which can be obtained by clearing the lower difficulty modes.
Conqueror’s Coins, are the most common Azwan currency. You can also buy 9 of them for 1 Emperor’s Coin through shop NPC Popodom in the Azwan Refuge Zone.

Emperor’s Coins, which can be obtained by clearing modes in Hard difficulty.
Emperor’s Coins, are used to purchase rare Azwan items. You can also buy 1 of them for 11 Conqueror’s Coins through NPC Popodom in the Azwan Refuge Zone.

  • Coins can be exchanged for unique Azwan scrolls, Circulators to randomly change your Inner Abilities, and other items.
  • Azwan scrolls can raise your equipment stats more than regular scrolls, but they also require more upgrade slots to be used.
  • NPC Jean Pierre changes his wares regularly as you rack up victories in Azwan, but they will be reset to mirror NPC Popodom’s offerings when you log out. NPC Popodom’s wares don’t change.
  • You might be able to find special recipes and new Emperor equips for sale from NPC Jean Pierre.
  • AZWAN~ HONOR EXP: [az4]

  • You are able to earn Honor EXP from 2pm to 8pm Pacific each day by winning battles.
  • Inner Abilities unlock as you raise your Honor level. You gain one Inner Ability at Honor Lv.2, a second at Honor Lv.30, and a third at Honor Lv.70.
  • Inner Abilities are like potentials applied directly to you instead of your equipment, which is a hella plus<3
  • For every 10 Honor levels you’ve reached, you can obtain a higher ranking Circulator from the Azwan merchants.
  • A Circulator can be used to reset all Inner Abilities. You’ll get better results from using higher ranking Circulators.
  • You can view your Honor level, Honor EXP, and Inner Abilities in the character stat menu.
  • MAPLE BIGWIGS: [az5]
Ooo, so this event was fun. My sister phoned me yesterday about it, I was visiting family so of course I didn’t do it. However today I get on and do it, and I have seriously fallen in love with the chair. It is so badass, lol!

Selection process that makes you eligible to be Maple BigWig:
These are theories, no one has really had much solid proof to how Nexon chose their Maple BigWigs.
Have an open account for MapleStory for a long time, pretty much be a veteran to the game. (Years, possibly?)
Access your MapleStory account frequently. (Log in for hours at a time 3+ times a week?)
Have charged at least $10 to your MapleStory account in the year 2012.
Have multiple 50 or 70+ characters on your MapleStory account.

The only things above that my sister and I have in common as well as her boyfriend, is that we have all been playing MapleStory since at least 2006 on our accounts. We have also charged at least $10 to our MapleStory accounts this year. As well as playing frequently and having high level characters on the account.
However Nexon selected their Maple BigWigs, congrats for being a part of this special event and better luck next time if you weren’t. The only thing you might miss out on is the maple points, everything else is for gloating and not entirely important. My brother wasn’t chosen as a Maple BigWig but he introduced both my sister and I to MapleStory. So yeah, don’t feel left out!

‘BigWigs’, maaaannn I liked being a ‘HeneHoe’ ]:
